Wax Atlas started on Andy’s couch…. before moving to his basement. He had no experience as a retail manager. To say that our store has operated with very loose rules compared to other retailers would be generous.

Now that we are growing we need someone with legit management experience to help create a more standardized and professional work environment (within the realm of insanity we inhabit). This would be an incentive/percentage based role tied to actual store sales.

Are you organized but also awesome?  Good at oversight and accounting? Have a vision for how our community space can continue to grow? Are you good at setting goals and leading a team?

Willing to tell Andy that if he doesn’t also follow the rules you will whack him in the head with a stick?

GOT ELECTRONICS REPAIR EXPERIENCE? WANT TO PARTNER WITH A RECORD STORE?

Wax Atlas is looking for an experienced electronics repair technician to partner with us to offer our customers basic stereo, component, turntable and other related repairs. We provide the workshop space / resources as well as handle all customer service, job acquisition, billing and payment.  You do the repairs, tuneups and other work. We split it. Simple as that. 

We recieve several requests daily for repairs / tuneups / belt changes / basic soldering work / etc on vintage stereos, turntables and other equipment. This is the result of the departure over the last decade of several local repair shops. There is also a lack of affordable bench fees or folks willing to work on consumer grade machines. We’d like to help fill in the gap. 

The job could be as many or as few hours as you want to put in (there’s no shortage of work) but ideally we’d start with at least 10-15 scheduled, regular  hours. This is a great opportunity for a tech looking to go pro while making their own schedule and its also an ideal side hustle or retirement job.

We have always made use of e-commerce platforms (especially for rare or expensive items). We have NOT always been good about maintaining those profiles.

Do you have proven experience selling online? We are looking for someone to work with us for a percentage of sales going forward. This could occur through our accounts, through your  existing accounts, or a hybrid of the two. This person will also be in charge of fulfillment (aka customer service and packing/shipping). We are open to ideas from experienced sellers on how best to partner so let us know what would work on your end?
